The authors can get their works published elsewhere only after the rejection by The Achievers Journal, or if their request to withdraw their submission is officially accepted by the editor-in-chief of The Achievers Journal. It is the responsibility of the author to inform the editor-in-chief of The Achievers Journal of any inaccuracy of data in their published work, so that correction or retraction of the work could be done. The Achievers Journal will not be responsible for any shortcoming in their work.
Duties of the Reviewers
The reviewer(s) of TAJ must disclose any competing interest before agreeing to review a submission. They can refuse to review any submission due to a conflict of interest or inadequate knowledge. It is the responsibility of the reviewer to review all the articles submitted objectively, fairly and professionally, and reveal any ethical misconduct encountered while reviewing to the Editor-in-Chief for further action. The reviewers of TAJ must ensure the originality of a submission and be alert to any plagiarism and redundant publication. They must not discuss the content of the submission without permission. The reviewers must adhere to the time allocated for the review process. The reviewer’s requests for an extension to review the submission is at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
Duties of the Editorial Board Members
The members of the editorial board must actively contribute to the development and growth of the journal. They must act as the ambassador of the journal and continuously support and promote the journal. They must impart their duties of reviewing the articles assigned to them.
Duties of the Editor-in-Chief
The editor-in-chief must evaluate the manuscripts fairly and decide which articles can be published on the basis of intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the author. The editor-in-chief must ensure the confidentiality of manuscripts and should not disclose any information regarding manuscripts to anyone other than the people involved in the publishing process. He must actively seek the views of board members, reviewers, and authors on how to improve/ increase the image and visibility of the journal. He must give clear instructions to potential contributors on the submission process and what is expected of the authors. He must also ensure appropriate reviewers are selected/ identified for the reviewing process.
Plagiarism
Authors should submit only original work that is not plagiarized and has not been published or being considered elsewhere. Appropriate software may be used by the editorial board to check for similarities of submitted manuscripts with existing work. The inclusion of fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements is unacceptable. Work and/or words from other publications must be appropriately cited or quoted.
Reporting
Authors should state their results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation. The methods used in the work should be clearly and unambiguously described so that the findings can be repeated and confirmed by other researchers.
Conflicts of Interest
A statement on conflict of interest must be included in the manuscript if authors receive any support that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
Authorship and Collaboration
Name of authors listed in a paper should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the report. Only those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors.
Multiple or Redundant
Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research output in more than one journal or primary publication. A similar manuscript should not be submitted to more than one journal concurrently as this constitutes as unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
PLAGIARISM POLICY
Plagiarism is when an author attempts to pass off someone else’s work as his or her own. This includes information from web pages, books, songs, television shows, email messages, interviews, articles, artworks or any other medium. Duplicate publication, sometimes called self-plagiarism, happens to take place when an author reuses substantial parts of his or her own published work without providing the appropriate citation. To paraphrase, summarize, or take words, phrases, or sentences from another person’s work, needs to indicate the source of the information within the paper using an internal citation. It is not enough to just list the source in a bibliography at the end of the paper. Failing to properly quote, cite or acknowledge someone else’s words or ideas without an internal citation is also plagiarism.
As part of this process, The Achievers Journal scans every manuscript with plagiarism tool. Such manuscripts would not be considered for publication in The Achievers Journal: Journal of English Language, Literature and Culture. If any article is found to be plagiarized or reported by anybody to have been plagiarized even after publication, the article will be REMOVED with a notice for the misdeed and the author will be blacklisted.
